The King is dead – Long Live The Queen!
Now all she does is scrub and clean
And polish til she sees no trace
Of what was once a well-loved face.
Nigh sixty years abused, repressed –
Perhaps some wrongs can be redressed.
Maybe she can reclaim her life
And be more than a battered wife!
He chased away her friends and kin –
But now he’s gone and cannot win.
And so she scrubs til she feels clean –
The King is dead – Long Live The Queen!

All the best
