La Pucelle d'Orleans
Dressed as a man when it was wrong;
Led the troops to free her land
Armour clad, with sword in hand
Such daring deeds to undertake;
But she was still burnt at the stake!
She was such a feisty wench.
Such a pity she was French.

A brief and compact biography

A brief and compact biography of the maid of Orleans, Linda. I dare say the French are rather proud of their pucelle.

Quite cleverly written, Linda
Quite cleverly written, Linda. Joan of Arc is quite a mystery in some ways, but I gather her dressing as a man was at first for safety in travelling, and later for safety from rape in the prison, the clothing being more protective. Rhiannon
