LIFE - AS WE KNOW IT

Life as we know it’s a terrible place –
When you think you are winning it spits in your face.
It throws you more problems that you cannot crack;
Kicks you in the teeth and stabs you in the back.
Banks raise all the interest, make you overdraw
Then harass with calls till you can’t take any more.
You don’t answer the phone if you don’t know who’s calling –
All this when they tell us the bank rates are FALLING!

The toffs are all laughing – it’s profit for them
For they are the bankers we’re forced to condemn!
We max out our credit just to live as we should
Then they hike our loans’ interest – complaining’s no good.
They’ll squeeze us and squeeze us until we are dead –
Unless you’re a banker you won’t get ahead.
So why won’t our government show us that it cares? –
Oh yes – I’d forgotten -; they’re all MILLIONAIRES!
