LONDON TRANSPORT

Who in their right mind would travel by bus?
The bus may be green but a car is less fuss
You sit unmolested in your own little space
No bag in your ear and no bum in your face.
No sweaty armpits, there’s fresh air to breathe,
No luggage to trip you when trying to leave.
If children are screaming, at least they are yours
And if fearful of thieves, you can lock all your doors!
My usual journey really isn’t so far –
Two hours by bus – forty minutes by car!
In time spent at bus stops in cold and in rain –
I could be at my Father’s and back home again!
They’ve put up the fares again it’s a disaster
The buses still packed and won’t go any faster!
I’ll be retired soon and can go free and far
So I’ll save up my fares and then get me a car!
