THE SAD TALE OF A LAZY LIZARD (IP)

Mrs Chamelion was ranting one day
Swishing her tail in a truculent way;
Baring her teeth, she was angrily hissing -
For Mr Chamelion, again, had gone missing!
'You fat lazy lizard!' she shouted and yelled
But this was the one thing at which he excelled -
Whenever he fancied a bit of a rest
She never could find him, for he was the best
At changing his colour to suit his location:
But this interesting talent was his ruination!
One day his poor missus was calling his name
Then got cross and disheartened when nobody came,
And went to her Mother's, intending to stay -
She'd been trying to warn of a storm on the way.
Soon the slumbering lizard had started to shake
As the wind shook his tree and it started to break.
He woke up in terror; but with nowhere to hide
He fell off the branch, hit his head and just died.
The moral of this tale is - Just sleep in your bed!
And don't hide when you're napping - you might end up dead.
