SOLENT VIEW

I stayed in a beautiful house
With a view across the
Sparkly silvery turquoisy sea
All the way to the other island
I wanted to keep the image for ever
So I took out my magical silvery digital camera
And took a picture of the view
The brilliant shimmering view.

On the wall of the top floor room
Overlooking the other island in the Solent
Was a picture of that very view
Of that lovely view of the sparkling sea
Painted from that very window
I wanted to keep that image too
So I took out my silvery digital magical camera
And took a picture of the picture of that view too

I tried to preserve that peculiar feeling
I had when viewing the painting of the view
At the same time as looking out of the window
And viewing the wonderful view
I took again my digital magical silvery camera
But from whichever angle I tried
I could not quite frame together
Both the picture of the view and the actual view

So I threw the digital silvery magical camera
Out of the high window of the beautiful house
And it splashed right into
The sparkly silvery turquoisy sea
And I jumped in after it too
Forever to take my magical digital pictures
Of the views from the silvery sparkly turquoisy sea
Of the house with the enchanting view

Now look out of that window
At the view of the turquoisy sparkly sea
And you will see the brightest of sparkles, a very bright light -
And you might even see me
Now look at the painting, there too is the flash
It’s the silvery magical digital camera;
For me and my camera are now part of the view
Photographing the house – And you.
