Unswerving fate

Pale filmy eyes gaze into the dark depths of the water,
A wave of eerie midnight black hair fans out on the undisturbed surface of the ravine.
The slow steady current of water flows passed limbs of pearl.
The remnants of beauty still pale in her cheeks,
The light of a dancing flame snuffed out in her staring eyes.
Lips once red as rose petals fade
As does the memory of a life once lived.
No breath taken from her lips,
No rise and fall of her chest.
A heart once filled with love and life
Now stays still and cold.
Betrayed and killed by a love not worth the price paid there for.
The water so pure flows by and she drifts
Her still figure carried on the current.
A gruesome attribute to the prospect of death,
Flowing by, like life on the stream of an unswerving fate.
A soul that has already reached her destination,
Looks from above watching her former self carried away.
To stand before judgement at the gates
To pay for a life lived and lost.
