Carnival Glass
Brightly colored pieces of glass
Lay strewn like jewels.
These pretty shards are all that's left.
Sharp reminders of a life
Turned lackluster without care.
Each piece quickly gathered
In hopes to create something whole
Once again, from so many small pieces.
Each segment added to another
Until a bigger section is derived.
Blues melded with greens,
Purples co-mingled with reds,
Until at last carnival glass is attained.
