E-Lady of Words

The lady of words does lay down her pen.
Her heart is heavy with sorrow.
She no longer knows where to begin.
It feels as though there's no tomorrow.
Empty promises are hard to hold.
Golden cups of tears fill her soul's cupboard.
None of this pain could be foretold.
Love's like a double-edged sword.
So her pen's now empty, her words are hollow.
For she gave her heart much too readily.
Against better judgement, her desires she did follow.
Down the path of destruction, the lady walked steadily.
She suffered in silence, for none knew her despair,
her pain never evident to a passerby.
For too deeply the lady had begun to care.
She filled the golden cups every night as she'd cry.
