Y-The Walking Man

The wind is blowing your hair all around
Whipping your shirt tail until it's unbound
A solemn set of footprints in the sand
The clouds your only companions, no one to hold your hand
You brood in silence with your thoughts
In the hovel of indecision you are wrought
The wind whispers your choices my dear
Will you listen or turn a deaf ear
The waves roll on out to sea
Which will you choose, her or me
Your indecisiveness like the current, back and forth flow
Soon I'll be pressing you for an answer, I have to know
Since no choice appears obvious you continue to walk
Just content in the fact I'm not saying we need to talk
How long can you walk out there in the sand
Alone with your thoughts, you're the walking man

I wrote this after seeing a picture of someone walking along the beach
all alone. I wondered what he could be thinking about and this was what
I came up with.
