At The Corner Of My World
By little chilli

You stand. So smooth and calm. At the corner of my world.
And my friends crane their heads, and pretend they aren't.
They whisper to each other, and pretend not to. I wish
I could turn away. Hide my burning face. But I stand.
Locked in this parade of humanity.
Its like a wind. A gradual whisper that reaches me.
Everyone who didn't know will know in ten minutes. And
I will burn of the shame. And the love. Because nothing
Can stop me loving you. Do you even notice me, I wonder.
Wonder at the calm. You can hear them, I'm sure.
Hear my name and your name linked. Knotted together
In a snarl so tight I could never pry it apart. And I do want to.
I have 5 minutes, ten seconds and a heartbeat.
To move you in from the corner of my world. Come closer.
