Fly Away

Fly away. Soar across the waves, let the wind draw you into somewhere near heaven. There is no blue like the blue of the sea. No feeling like the hope of freedom. They are one, the blue of the sea and the hope of freedom. Blue Hope.
It is what I call her. She twists beneath me, wanting to race away. My slender wrists pull and tease at her until she flows as softly as the waves beneath her. We dance, spinning across and back, swaying with the water.
To the world we are a cloud, a low cloud skimming across blue skies. The crisp whiteness of sails is the air I breathe, the water I sail. Living and sailing is the same. There is no life without sailing, no dawn without the hope of freedom.
We soar. Away, to the home I will make amongst these scattered islands. Build a castle, live the life of island princess, or sleep in the sand by the water I adore. I choose the sand. Spend the night encased in tarpaulin.
We run with the dawn. Chase the burnished sky to the curves of the earth. She and I race to the finish, to the middle of nothingness. She wins. X marks the spot. We scatter magic over the waves to show we were here. Then we move on. Fly away.
