Flatfoot asks Leggy for a dance

I look like an elephant
tough and powerful and strong.
That is only my body
harbouring my fragile soul.
The thick-skinned like the thin-skinned
seek shelter from burning sun,
need moisture, frequent showers,
a decent scrubbing massage.
Do you think I am clumsy?
Look how I put my flat feet
fleet-footed soft on the ground;
mindful movement of my mass.
Knowledge thirst will rack my neck,
with vision will rise above
like a farsighted giraffe.
With long lashed loving look on
the beautiful side of life.
Lithe and lissom, long-legged, yet
solid standing. Grass tickling
my ankles from the bottom.
Tongue on the top of the trees
will gather the finest leaves.
