Chew of tongue and squint of eye

Clicks of jaw and twitch of cheek

These lies drip from every pore

and stain the truths between.

 

Swift of thought and fleet of foot

Turn of phrase and doublespeak

The lies that tear the words apart

and split the truths between.

 

The accusations in the silence

The devil the detail's in

A once true fact so weathered now

It lets the truth seep in.

 

Unsaid. Unfathomed. Unspoken.

 

The things that fall between their words

Heaven sent to you and me

Delivered from their masks of grace

That mask the truths between.
