Perched, snoozing ten feet high at midnight.

A bumblebee large and evident,

toward the center of a sunflower dial.

Piles of nectar welling up around him.

What an arrangement!

For me, it would be as if I'd taken a suite

in the middle of a Chinese restaurant,

and then slept in until the buffet was ready.

Like the metaphor of you sleeping in a Chinese restaurant surrounded by a buffet of food, for the piles of nectar welling up around the sleeping bumblebee.

Thanks, Jenny! The comparison was so decadent that now I feel a bit guilty. Maybe my next poem should be about digging ditches or something, to balance things out.

Yep! Two sunflower plants are well over 11', but they slowly leaned with a constant north wind. Then there was a storm, and I had to do something. I shored them up gently with broom handles set diagonally.
