Don't say goodbye

We are hiding in the bathroom
then hiding in the kitchen
looking out the window
and not seeing anything

We are all the time sleepy
listening and not hearing
we are hungry starving
but our stomachs are churning

We want to be near
but frightened we stay away
we know the time is slipping
we don't want to say goodbye
