Swallow it down,
throat expands like
a snake.
Swollen mound;
free floating
in a sack,
the moving dead
turning, twisting;
pretending.
Fingers and toes
scratchy little hat-
perfectly
limp, cold feet
pressed black on white by a
cold, cold fish.
Smile for the camera-
and again,
and again.
Birth meets death
swallow it down,
down,
like a snake.

Having read your second piece I can see how you are showing us some of what was felt at this terrible time, you do it so well.
