Al Fresco

The waiter smiles
as he lays the tables
on the green lawn
of a Tuscan garden.
He recalls seeing
the film ‘The Godfather’
with scenes of the wedding
of the Don’s daughter.
But today’s occasion
won’t be so dramatic,
just the idyllic nuptials
of two local nobs.
There’ll be no Marlon Brando
and no Al Pacino,
but plenty of champagne
and the finest brandy.
A party of thirty
will be arriving soon.
It is a fabulous day
and the sun’s very hot.
As it is ‘flaming June’,
the guests will have lunch
out here in the open
and eating ‘al fresco’.
The best man will sing
the groom's praise,
the bride will apply
the director’s cut
on the wedding cake.
The performance will end
with music and dance
and be worthy of an Oscar.

The Director's Cut - Nice one
The Director's Cut - Nice one Luigi... I remember the stiletto my director used
I agree with Bee and it would appear cherries were also served... what a good script.
