Breaking Point

Bereft of hope and unrequited love
Regretting not having tried my best,
Each time I see the girl of my dream
A sudden feeling of emotional distress
Kicks in and I can no longer cope.
In desperation I tend to clutch at straws.
Numb, I sense I'm unable to contain
Grief and give way to mental stress.
Punto di rottura the Italians call it
Or translated, it means 'breaking point'.
Is this the end or can I find peace?
No one should suffer such anguish.
To endure adversities is what I wish.
