A Case for Rosary Beads

I saw the number:
it was six, six, six,
and I asked myself,
am I in a fix?

What the devil is this?
I know for a fact
that I've not made
a Faustian pact.

The fear of doom
lay upon my soul.
Had I by any chance
scored an own goal?

I was about to count
my rosary beads
when I realised
that they were reads.

A poem I wrote
had been read
by 666 readers
and  I was very glad.
