Circling the Globe

Did I travel? You bet.
I went to Tunisia,
Morocco and Tibet.

To Turkey, to Greece,
and other countries
in search of peace,

I circled the globe
from east to west
to look and probe

if they'll ever meet
to reach an accord
and cease to compete.

Found no animosity
from people querying
my idle curiosity.

But these are things
that can be described 
as a poet's imaginings

I never once set foot
on a train or a plane
but always stayed put

My mind can envision
those distant places
with great precision.

Hello Jenny. That's how I mostly travel nowadays but I haven't always been an armchair traveller. In my younger days, I globe-trotted a fair bit.

That's an impressive list of places visited, Luigi. I imagine you have a treasure trove of memories. Travelling in the mind isn't so bad. It's a real moneysaver. Enjoyed, of course. Paul

When writing, some poetic licence is allowed, Paul. There are places I  have mentioned but not visited, like Tibet, for instance, and others that haven't been included although I have been there. The most distant was Mexico in 1966, a country tha at the time I found very interesting and welcoming. I understand that the situation is different now.

Yes Luigi! Time travel is possible and I will prove it to you. The problem is travelling to the past. So I suggest crossing the date line (east to west?) in a very fast airplane, a jet, so that you have travelled one day to the past, to yesterday. Flying then very fast to the west you again cross the date line, two days before and so on.

Some people say the solution is that the earth is flat. Well I admit my math is not so well, can you believe it?

Hi Nolan, I like your theory and will put it to the test when I next travel. As for your maths, I believe you but thousands wouldn't, as my wife used to say.
