They threw confetti
outside the church
with joyful cries
to wish us well.
And as they stood
by the front porch
they cheered, they waved
and bade farewell.
I loved her madly,
carried a torch
for my beloved
who cast a spell.
She's left me now,
truly in the lurch,
but the Press pay me
to kiss-and-tell.
