The dancer performed
the last pirouette
then stood,
with legs aquiver
on tiptoes.
The sun, like a magic lantern,
projected her silhouette
onto the wall.
This magic moment
is now frozen in time
for us to savour.
The artist was ready
with brushes and palette
to capture and transpose
the nuance and flavour
of this delicate vignette
to a virgin canvas.
