The End of the Affair

It was with anticipation
that I stood on platform 2
of Piccadilly station:
I was expecting you.
All the passengers alighted
from the London Train.
I would’ve been delighted
to see you once again.
But it was not to be
and I shoulder the blame.
You learnt I wasn’t free,
that’s why you never came.
