A Floral Abundance

Primulas, peonies, petunias,
polyanthus and plenty other
flowers have been painted
by artists for many a year.
In Vincent van Gogh's work
a lot of sunflowers appear
while water lilies abound
in Claude Monet's canvas.
But these two masters are
not the only ones around.
Although we are all thrilled
by these masterpieces
floral depictions galore
have also been produced,
in oil or water colour,
by artists less celebrated
but equally skilled.
Winifred Nicholson's
delicate illustrations
of mughetti (lily of the
valley) come to mind.

Hi Luigi,
a beautiful response to the I. P. celebrating some great artists that are admired, as is your poem.
Enjoyed reading.
