A Hive of Activity

As I sit in the garden
I'm feeling exhausted,
not from my own toil
but from seeing the activity
that goes on around me.
A wriggling pink worm
is burrowing the soil
to make for itself
a warm, cosy home
that we can't see.
Buzzing bees are busy
making sweet honey
in wooden beehives;
ready for the beekeeper
for when he arrives.
An active tree squirrel
running like a sprinter
is collecting any nuts
he can find, to save
for the next winter.
I spot a colony of ants
hurrying and scurring
among the plants
carrying grain husk
from dawn to dusk.
I watch the goings-on
with a troubled frown.
Although intrigued,
I feel too fatigued
and have to lie down.

Ha! Ha! Those garden
Ha! Ha! Those garden creatures never cease do they? Always on the go determined to make the most of Spring and Summer. Great I P Poem Luigi, which covers just about most industrious garden visitors.
Nice one. It was a pleasure reading.

garden adventures
As kids everyday common home garden adventures, in wonder as children fascinated and great excitement much better than tv, while we grown-ups hardly notice goes just goes past around us lazy bones.
I like the tree squirrel one! Very clever. And working tirelessly the ant colony as one together as in the book of proverbs and then "Although intrigued, I feel too fatigued and have to lie down".
I like the wordplay with the bees too & Nolan
