An Ideal Place

No better place than this
along the English coast,
the locals boast.
It is the perfect spot
not only for day trippers
but for all tourists.
We have amenities
that nearby towns
haven't got.
A pavilion theatre
with family shows,
but no strippers;
a wooden pier
from which kids and dads
can fish for crabs;
a tea room and a pub
that serves Irish beer
and decent grub;
an amusement arcade
and a promenade
with seats and shelter
for older people;
a church with a steeple
that sports a weather cock
and scaffolds all around
as they repair the clock;
a weekly food market
selling local produce
which gives the gourmand
the perfect excuse;
we have a brass band
and an ancient bandstand;
our beach has no pebbles
but fine golden sand.
And to cap it all,
the Victorian hotel,
perched on the cliff top,
old, but well kept,
where, we are told,
Queen Victoria slept.

Yes, it describes the
Yes, it describes the threshold that all so enjoy. Even if you don't want to venture into the water, or get sand in your shoes, the view out over water and the breezes are relaxing in themselves. Rhiannon
