I'm not a crackpot
like that lot who boast
they saw the “King's” ghost
on a slice of toast.
 
I know it's untrue
and I'll tell you why.
To say that he's dead
is a barefaced lie.
 
He is alive and well
and lives in New York.
I met him one day
at my place of work.
 
He wore a Stetson
and casual chinos.
He ordered a cake
and a cappuccino.
 
I sprinkled chocolate,
added some cream;
he looked at it
as if in a dream.
 
Studying the froth.
he said, “Good heavens,
I think I can see
the face of John Lennon.”

The second stanza was surprising, but who is the guy with with the stetson! John Lennon, or Elvis? Or Mohammed Ali?
