In the Land of the Blind

My right eye was scanned
to determine if a lesion
had been the cause
of my impaired vision.
They put some drops in
that made my eyes sting
but sadly they didn't
reveal anything.
Look after the other one,
that's all you've got left,
the consultant confirmed
and I was bereft.
It is said the one-eyed man
is king in the land of blind
so I don't let this problem
to impinge on my mind.

The eyes are so precious, as your poem confirms. If this is about your eye, I am so sorry. Really hope it doesn't cause you too much difficulty...especially with your writing.
Take care Luigi.

country of the blind
One of HG Wells prophetic stories is "Country of the Blind". Absolutely brilliant they don't write books like that anymore. A long short story or short long story.
Very brave for you to be so philosophical now on your partial blindness, I am half-blind too but I have very thick spectacles it helps.
Cheers Luigi! Look agfter yourself & Nolan

a relief
Sorry Luigi, I misunderstood you, well it's good they can help you. I can actually also see quite well with my glasses I've had contact lenses too. Sorry I jumped the gun, stupid of me. Does make one grateful we forget what a wonderful gift eyesight is.
Still, HG Wells was one of the greatest writers & Nolan
