Lethargy

I really can’t explain
this sudden lethargy.
I haven’t any pain
nor do I have an allergy.
The people around me
have boundless energy
so what is the reason
for the lack of vitality?
Don’t say it is my age,
though you may be right;
I’ll get into a rage
and it ain’t a pretty sight.
 
I’ve been told by some
that it is unavoidable
that the day will come
when I’m held accountable
for the life that I have led.
I imagine you believed
the lies you have been fed
but you’ve been deceived.
I have been all along
a paragon of virtue;
I didn’t do any wrong.
 
I didn’t sniff the glue
and, unlike many mugs,
can proudly declare
that I never took drugs.
Explanations might be
varied and multitudinous
but I know the reason
for being hebetudinous;
I am acutely aware
the sun is at its height;
the heat is unbearable
at hundred Fahrenheit.

HI Luigi,

you're not the only one who feels this way, I'm lounging around with no energy, feeling like a piece of lard, even showers don't help. Let's hope the thunderstorm clears the air and sends us that welcome cool breeze.

Hello Jenny, fellow sufferer. We are all in need of cool air but let's hope the thunderstorms aren't so  violent that they cause mayhem, especially in vulnerable areas prone to floods.
Whatever happens, have a nice weekend.

Hi Luigi, you said you never took drugs or things like glue but did you smoke cigarettes or that? or drink alcohol. I know it's personal but you started it.

"Curiosity killed the cat" is a proverb used to warn of the dangers of unnecessary investigation, dear Tom.
