The name of a man
just departed, whose loss
is painful to accept.
Devoted husband,
father, grandfather,
he won love and respect
from family and friends
who knew him well.
Being full of zest
and very active,
he was at his best
when indulging
in his favourite sports:
tennis and skiing,
the latter daringly
off-piste.
But he was also an artist
whose excellent work
was a delight to see.
Any mention of it
will strike a chord
with people who knew
he was a man of his words
who would never let
anyone down.
We will never forget
that he was part of our life.

I think you've written a wonderful poem in tribute Luigi. He sounds like a sociable man who loved life and will be remembered by many.

Jenny, how kind of you. It is about my Italian brother-in-law who was a wonderful man and passed away just three days ago. As I was unable to attend the funeral I thought this was the least I could do in his memory.
I appreciate that it may not appeal to everyone as they are thoughts personal to me and am very grateful to you for your welcome sympathy. Many thanks.
