No Hurry For a Flurry

We had a snowfall yesterday.
I wasn't expecting it so soon.
There are exceptions of course;
I remember one year, in Essex,
we had a few snowflakes in June.
Normally, Christmas is the time
when the white stuff may come
although there is no guarantee
and we can bet on the outcome.
Too cold, say people in the know
for a downfall to happen at all;
can it ever be too cold to snow?
Yes, but it might be a close call,
I don't like the cold season much,
whenever it arrives is too soon,
yet I must endure the discomfort,
adapt to the climate and attune.

We had a snowfall as well -
We had a snowfall as well - it didn't look like much, but the children in the house opposite me managed to gather up enough for a very small snowman!

Hi Luigi,
Hi Luigi,
we too had a snowfall last Friday night going through to Saturday morning with very thick flakes blowing in from the north. I too thought it would hang around, but it all disappeared by about 10 am. You convey the weather perfectly in this poem. I also can't understand when people say it's too cold to snow...it doesn't make sense, especially when you think of the Arctic conditions.
Enjoyed reading.
Jenny. xx
