Forgotten,
gathering dust
in the garage,
an upright piano,
an old music sheet
with notes of a song
that reminds me of you;
playing merrily
and singing with gusto
“Nel blu, dipinto di blu”.

And mine too, Jane. I was still in Italy when the song was released in 1958, sung by Domenico Modugno. It became very popular after coming third at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Pleased the poem evoked good memories in you and thanks for the coveted cherries.

Singalongs- like the nostalgia of this poem Luigi-san. I've been away for a very long time..re comments if we are singing from the same song sheet and joana?theres a lot of songs about the love of a good woman women..Cowboy type ones i imagine..might be the only help there. I love the happy go lucky dreamer in love in the song...if we could all be so, at least sometimes! Cheers for the singalong xx
