Rocks, paper and scissors.
I once loved that game.
Not anymore.
I think it is obscene,
almost too near
the knuckle.

Our relationship
was rock solid:
we used to chuckle
and indulge in capers;
married in everything
but name.

Then she went and spoiled it,
wanting to make it legal
with a piece of paper.
It went downhill from then on
or maybe our liaison
had run its course.

I have got only part
of our wedding photograph:
she cut it in two halves
with her embroidery scissors.

Hi Beeme. Thanks for the comment. I had taken out those particular lines as I felt that they didn't fit the rest of the poem. Perhaps I should reinstate them in view of what you say. I can see now that there is some relevance, i.e. knuckles/fingers/hand. I am going to edit. Thanks for the feedback.

Thank you Tina for reading this and letting me have your opinion. As you rightly say the title is too good to resist and can be adapted to all sorts of situation. Having read the two poems that inspired it, Mistaken Magic's and Ewan's I was afraid that mine might not measure up to their standard but you and Beeme with your nice comments have re-assured me.
