Something Old, Something New

Something old,
something new;
something borrowed,
something blue.
For my mad reasoning
accept my apology;
the above suggests to me
a peculiar analogy.
To put it another way,
it is the same old story
of a governing party
that's not covered in glory.
The current mob is past it
and a new one is needed.
The man in the street says
they'll soon be defeated.
The spectacle they show
is like a pantomime
Opinion polls predict
they live on borrowed time.
Many of their stout followers
have now begun to rue
the day they gave their vote
to a candidate in blue.

A clever take on the IP,
A clever take on the IP, Luiigi. Expectations of alternative groups are usually unrealistic, and all have a mixed membership, with some members more trustworthy than others, and all fallible - as is true of the voters too! Rhiannon

Bravo, Luigi! And so say - well, if not all of us, then certainly a great many of us. I'm not sure I trust opinion polls, though. The great British public has a history of doing some very odd things.
Great take on the IP.

I like your use of the Inspiration Point for a political/governing party. It seems to sum up the Tories so well! Perfect! I also was thinking could it be a bit similar for Biden and the Democrats in America? (particularly as they seem so keen to ignore some of the opinions of many of their voters?). Good poem!

Nice one Luigi, particualry
Nice one Luigi, particualry how you incorporated the blue in the IP. As far as the politicians - as in how far can we throw them, well, they are no longer the masters of the universe, they are just servants of multinational big business.
