Spotless in Tennessee

 A baby giraffe was born with no spots at Brights Zoo in Tennessee on 31
July. The spotless giraffe is incredibly rare. 

For captive animals
to be born in a zoo
it's not unusual;
it is nothing new.

When I heard the news
about a baby giraffe
at first I thought
that it was a gaffe.

It was announced,
believe it or not,
to have been born
without a single spot.

A spotless camelopard
is extremely rare.
A rueful leopard said:
“I don't really care.

It's the luck of the draw,
I've been tied in knots
for many long years
trying to lose my spots.”
