I told
hasn't been sold,
it's really free.
Hoped it was published, wasn't to be;
so I'll offer it to you for consideration.
Do not be sparing with your praises and be vociferous in your admiration.

Hi Jane, many thanks for your kind comment.
Sometimes would-be writers are perplexed when their work is rejected by a publisher. To prove to themselves that their talent has been overlooked they post it on social media for assessment by their peers and the response they get determines its quality. What they fail to understand is that the readers' judgment is just as subjective as the publisher's.

I'd forgotten about the Fibonacci sequnce, Luigi. We used it in that competiition long ago, didn't we.

In the end there  can be useful contructive or negatively-constructive criticism from publishers or online, but then each has to decide what they think useful for themselves or maybe some others for them to write, and capable of. You have an outlet in cheering others online and friends, I guess, with some thought-provoking input!

Sorry for my late reply, Rhiannon.
Yes, we had a Fibonacci poem as a challenge a long time ago and my submission didn't sparkle, just like the current one. Not to everyone's taste, it seems.
I am a bit sceptical about some publishers. Quite a few seem to rely on the vanity of aspiring authors and ask for money upfront. The same applies to writing competitions.
As for online opinions, they can be controversial but they are given in good faith and they are generally favourable.
Writers have their unique style and my aim is to raise a smile.
