Update on a Building Project (I.P.)

There are no concrete rules when building castles in the air but the word was that the project was failing as it was a drain on finances. Those rumours were without foundation:  there was no ceiling on expenditure. The only problem was that the contractor could not find a window to carry on the job as he was very often plastered. A local builder said that he could wipe the floor with his competitor and that his behaviour drove him up the wall. We realised that he was a brick and with him we wouldn’t plumb the depths of despair.

As you rightly pointed out, Rhiannon, it was a fun piece that I enjoyed writing for my own amusement if no one else. I was trying to come up with some sensible ideas but kept thinking of building terminology and this was the result. It just happened to be 100 words which suited me. It may not be everybody's cup of tea but at least it was short and to the point. Pleased that you saw the humour.
