One man in his time plays many parts,
wrote Shakespeare in As You Like It,
and this pronouncement seems to fit
one individual who embraced the arts.
Although politics was his main call
once outside the Westminster lobby
Churchill had an interesting hobby:
he was quite skilled at building a wall.
It is said that he slurred his vowels
but he didn’t suffer from impediment
when he made use of that implement
that we describe as a brickie’s trowel.
On imperfection he wouldn’t be silent;
when asked to lay a foundation stone
saw it was uneven and made no bones
about pointing out the misalignment.
He was an example to DIY devotees
who often struggle to get things right,
who suffer in their unsuccessful plight
and because of that are on their knees.

I looked up those stories,
I looked up those stories, the foundation stone included! I imagine the kind of concentration needed would be a therapeutic break from handling all the communications and information and discussions and decision-makings. Quite relaxing.
Interesting rhyme scheme. Rhiannon
