Wordle

My cereals are waiting
and the milk may curdle
while I work the answer
to the current Wordle.

This game has become
a fashionable craze
and its popularity shows
that it's not just a phase.

It is quite addictive
and I have to confess
that every day I try
to make my best guess.

One has six attempts
at guessing a word
composed of five letters 
that it isn't absurd.

I don't think anyone
can solve it outright
but with prescience
somebody might.

Perhaps this objective
should be my aim;
I would greatly relish
to achieve lasting fame.

Hadn't heard of it! somthing to look into, thanks. We do countdown puzzles, scrabble puzzles, brain teasers, boggle - at meal times! Rhiannon

Hi Rhiannon, it is quite a challenging and interesting word game that can be found here https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/
The rules are simple: Enter a 5 letter word of your choice in the first line of the grid and click 'enter', 

If any of the letters are in that day's word but in the wrong place, they turn gold.
If they are in the word in the right place, they turn green.
If they are not in the world, they turn grey.

You have six tries. Only one game per day.

I once managed to get it at the second go Luigi! (complete fluke though). It is a very good way of making ones brain work for five minutes. Let's hope they keep it free now it's been sold to the New York Times!

Hello Claudine, I have now played it 22 times and managed to get three times in 2, twice in 3 but the majority is 4 attempts. A lot depends on the initial choice and chance as well as one's skill at deducing.
What am I going to do now? I have to wait another fourteen hours until the next game!

The NYT has said they'll keep it free for the time being..
