The ZX81 and I

It's not for the notorious C5
that I'll remember Sir Clive.
I will never forget the day
when the ZX81, with one K
of memory, came my way
and charmed me right away.
I experimented and soon,
I wrote a game of Pontoon
in BASIC; a simple program
that used the entire RAM.
I realised there and then
that I needed another ten
K of additional memory
to improve my rudimentary
first attempt at computing
with some troubleshooting.
On that simple machine,
of which I was very keen,
I took my first steps
to make a more complex
and challenging game
that might bring me fame.
Thanks to Sir Clive Sinclair
I was able to compile Solitaire
Pity I gave the ZX the chop
in favour of a dull laptop.

Wonderful rhymes Luigi :0)
Wonderful rhymes Luigi :0) You evoke the fun and excitement so well! Interesting how that invention was exactly the right time, and his ebike too early. I bet if the C5 came out right now, it would be huge. Well done on POD, your poem did him proud :0)
