Only Light

A bright light breaks the night.
I open my eyes to you.
Sitting here feels just right,
For without you, I couldn't do.

The pain I've caused was not your fault.
You never did deserve it
And, well, I deserve you not.
But to be with you...I need this.

There is a hole when we're apart.
It is so dark, so full of pain,
Ripping and tearing at my heart.
Not to cry, I must strain.

And when I try to sleep:
Softly peering around
when i need a little sleep,
Then the tears pour out.

But you, here, with your arm
over me, my world is alive.
Nothing and no one can harm,
So long as there's you and I.
