HP woke up the morning after his birthday, convinced it was a dream, mum would never allow him to have a dog, he sat up in bed and rubbed his eyes, he was greeted by a large pile of kisses and licks from a small little dog, who had been asleep on the bottom of his bed,
"Morning son" said mum as she came into his room to open his curtains,
"And how are you little one" she said tickling the dog behind his ear.and then scooping him into her arms for a cuddle.
"You really ought to be giving him a name you know, we can't keep calling him dog" she said
"I'm gonna call him Branston" said hp
"Get dressed and come downstairs for your breakfast, and bring branston with you" called his mum as she disappeared down to the kitchen to make breakfast. HP and branston followed and branston found a small dog bowl with his breakfast in it
"Thanks mum" said HP
"for What " said his mum puzzled
"For letting grandma get me Branston" he said
"you're welcome sweetie" she said " i spoke to your father again last night, and i told him about branston" she said
"What did he say, he wasn't cross with grandma was he" said HP
"No he is really looking forward to meeting him, next week" said mum HP looked up and stared at his mum.
"Next week does that mean he's coming home then" said hp excitedly
"yes sweetie he is, but he has been injured, so he needs rest ok" said mum
"is he ok mum " said hp who suddenly stopped jumping around the room
he rushed down his breakfast, he wanted to get to sooty's house and tell him the good news.
"can i go to Sooty's house mum" said hp
"Yes of course you can, are you taking branston with you" said mum
"of course mum, he's my best freind" HP rushed into the hallway, put on his trainers and grabbed branston lead. he whistled to branston and put on his lead, and together they made their way down the road to Sooty's house
HP rang the doorbell, sooty' dad answered ,
"hi Mr Sonar is sooty in" said hp
"Sabastian is in the kitchen Hubert" he said gruffly HP was about to step into the hallway, when he realised he had branston with him. he looked at Mr Sonar and said
"can i bring Branston in please" Mr Sonar looked at Branston, and said
"Its fine hubert, hes rather cute" and he bent down and tickled him under the chin
HP entered the house and made his way to the kitchen, and he found sooty sitting at the table eating cornflakes
"Sooty,Sooty, My dads coming home next week"he said excitedly
