Vest Front!
Using 4mm needles, cast on 23, 25 stitches.
Loosely rib k1,p1 rib for four rows.
Change to stocking stitch and continue until the work measures 7,9 cm.
Shape for arms.
Cast off 3 stitches at the start of next two rows! 20, 22 stitches.
Next row, k1, slip 1, k1, psso. Continue to last three stitches, k2tog, k1, 18, 20 stitches
Next row: purl.
Continue in stocking stitch for 4, 6 rows.
Divide for neck.
Next row: Knit across 7, 8 stitches, cast off 4 stitches, k to end,
*Continue in stocking stitch, decreasing at neck edge every other row until 5 stitches remain.
Continue until the work measures from hem to shoulder, 15, 19 cm. Cast off. **
Go back to the remaining 7, 8 stitches and repeat the instructions from * to **. Cast off.
Vest Back
Cast on 25, 27 stitches and rib 4 rows in k1, p1.
Change to stocking stitch and continue until the work measures 7, 9 cm.
Shape for arms:
Cast off 3 stitches at start of next two rows.
Next row: Decrease 1 stitch at each end of row. 17, 19 stitches.
Next row: purl.
Continue in stocking stitch as set for 6, 8 rows.
Divide for neck.
Next row: Knit across 7, stitches, cast off 3, 5, knit to end.
On first 7 stitches:
Continue in stocking stitch decreasing at neck edge until 5 stitches remain.
Then continue until work measures from hem 15, 19 cm.
Cast off.
Go back to the other 7 stitches and work to match reversing all shaping.
Edging: Crochet a single crochet edging around the neck and armholes, embroider a flower to match the knickers if required.
