lets start again - new poem

Lets Start Again.
.
I said to my son.
"Lets start again,
you need the glue!
He nodded.
.
"i want my model
Daddy to be the best."
He said, his head
bent down, his hands
.
held the airplane
up to the light.
It's tiny struts
support for the wings.
"Like me," he said,
"it has crutches!"
.
I paused, half hurt
as I watched him hesitate
the plane still held up
to fly: why? I thought,
why him? Why God,
Why couldn't you
start again.
