Herbert!
Lord Herbert was a Baron, who lived in pagan Eastre,
far away from the darkness of modern life. He said;
"Let the people come to me! I'll listen all you like!"
.
The sky was blue and shining, the girls; they all were wed,
never a scarlet woman was known to grace his bed.
He'd shifted all the single parents, "Work you useless Dike!"
.
Their children were sent to special schools, with a letter
to recommend their immediate correction from their betters;
the dreaded Double Parents, who learnt their lessons in life.
.
It had happened first in America; the motion there was solid,
if they won't work,single parents were horribly to be punished.
Their days were long and lonely, their nights were agony.
.
The work they did was crazy; it didn't pay the rent.
"We can't even pay the council tax!" was their loud lament.
"Never mind," said the Baron, fingering his beard.
.
"I'm sure we can find the answer, we'll give you tax relief."
The government was happy, it had found the way to say,
"The sick and Poor have got to give up their living allowances,
.
and pay some of their own rent instead." "Great Idea!" shouted
the Party, in dilerious good humour, "It'll cut the deficit, Go on!
Be a dear!" Cam-the-man was waxing good, he'd got the 'paper paid.
.
And he didn't care if the Sick and Poor were on the street next day.
So wonder if you will, what will happen next? The story so far
is terrifying, I reckon: Old age pensions are to disapear next!
.
Followed by IVF: after all it may be said, the parents;
haven't signed a covenant to stay legally wed!
Children may not be concieved if the income is under average levels...
.
because the government's appalled, by the lack of social morals.
Criminals aren't being caught, their incomes arn't bedeviled.
The whole social scene is not reading right, I'm glad I'm nearly 97.
