How Bizarre

School days, they are boring,
What are they for?
A man's expected to be hard
And there's a kind of war
Between the pure and the lovely,
The good and the kind,
And the school bully
Who wants to control your mind,
How bizarre.
Criminals are our heroes,
People think they're cool,
You smash the bus stop windows,
You're the hardest kid in school.
A man comes out of prison, says,
'You've had a sheltered life.'
A boy wants to be like him
And now he carries a knife,
How bizarre.
Force you to stay on at school,
It's the best thing to do,
If you don't get your A'levels
There'll be no chance for you.
Force you to aim higher, to university,
If you're still unemployed by then
A teacher you should be,
How bizarre.
A school leaver can't read,
He gets a job cleaning floors,
You carry on a year or two
And another job is yours.
An engineer graduates from university,
He's unemployed for ten years
With a fairly good degree,
How bizarre.
