You Don’t Know What You’ve Got…

Love Leaves.
The world cried
When love died
And music left
with you.
The sun wore black
The stars went pale
The world turned
Darkest blue.
Without your songs
All felt bereft
With you gone
Contentment left
Joy and gladness
Followed soon
Hopes were dashed
Songs lost their tune
Tears were frozen
In bloodshot eyes
Acid rained from
Angry skies
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What Remains?
Happiness forgotten
Smiles became frowns
Optimism murdered by
Heart broken clowns
Emptiness…
Darkness…
Unbearable cold
Millions screaming
In prisons of gold.
“Where have our hearts gone?
Why IS it so cold?”
“You didn’t read the small print.
Your immortal souls - sold!”
Payment for the high life
For success or fleeting fame
Now you’ve lost you’re moaning that
You didn’t understand the Game
You learned to gag your conscience
To preach monkeys owned the Earth
That nothing really mattered
Only knowledge had real worth
The warmth of love you squandered
Has returned to whence it came
You might as well learn to face it
You'll never feel its like again
All the good things in your life
Were part of the Giving Good
But you were just a greedy taker
Just a vampire sucking blood.
Without love there is no sunshine
Without love there is no light
In an eternal frozen prison now
You who thought you were so bright :O)
Love has left and won’t be back
That’s why your world is painted black
Now you’re part of the Devil’s pack
There ain’t no point in lookin’ back!
Going Home Again.
It's strange but I keep getting the inexplicable feeling
that all the great singers are leaving.
This has expressed itself in the following rework of that beautiful song
'Feel Like Going Home'
Here is a link to the Notting Hillbillies version...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOqgZIzigcI
See if you can fit the words to the song.
If you can maybe you're on your way home too!
Lord I feel like going home.
Feel so cold, so tired and weary
I’ve tried everything to find you
Now I feel like going home
Lord I feel like going home
I sing my song but nobody hears me
They just hear what they want to hear
Makes me feel like coming Home
Lord I feel like going home
(I’ve) searched and (I’ve) searched… looking for you
Lord I’ve tried everything… to find you
I just feel like going home.
Lord I feel like going home
I feel so sad, so tired and lonely
It’s so hard to keep on smiling
Lord I feel like going home.
Cloudy skies are rolling back
Once again I can feel your sunshine
I can see those blessed shores... Oh they’re shining
And I feel like I’m coming home.
Lord I've found you at last
Missed you so much... missed your light to guide me
I've wandered lost for so long
Now I'm coming home to you
Lord I'm coming home at last
Once again I’ll be with you
Yes, I'm coming home to you (and)
I'll soon be home; home at last!
I decided to simplify back from :
'I sang MY song, but so very few listened'
to 'I sing my song but nobody hears me'
not just because it is simpler but also because, at such times,
'few' does become 'none' in the troubled mind.
