I use to linger in the falling rain

I use to linger in the falling rain
That ran through my heart
Like a rinsing, strain
I use run barefoot in the dark
To feel ever closer to the pain
In my heart
I use to hope that the joy
Of reading and writing, about you!
Would see me through
And keep our memories
Safe and true
And weather me and us through
These wintery heart ache lands
Wet with dew, wet with the tears
Of missing you!
I use to whisper on forward my soul
To follow you
I use to pace under the willows shadow
To follow back the silver thread
That led me back here alone
To an empty double king size bed
Without you!
But ghostly my tempers burst
Like a rain cloud
A little sun must shine
Because of you and me
Gently a little light like a rainbow
Touches me and leaves me
In a soft sort of after glow
Oh baby now I see
It's the way it's meant to be
In these satin sheets
Of harvesting hearts
Missing you missing me
Laughing hollow and free
Like a rinsing strain
I use run barefoot in the dark
To feel ever closer to the pain
In my heart
I use to hope that the joy
Of reading and writing, about you!
Would see me through
And keep our memories
Safe and true
And weather me and us through
These wintery heart ache lands
Wet with dew, wet with the tears
Of missing you!
I use to whisper forward-on my soul
To follow you
I use to pace in the willows shadow
To follow back the silver thread
That led me back here alone
to an empty double king size bed
Without you!
