Oh’ put a compress on my heart
And nurse me back to health
In your arms; in your arms
And before and after
We heal one another
Just remember the tears
The pain and the laughter
We shared in them years...
As a father as a mother
To our, one,
And only, son;
Who couldn't burn?
His innocent little fingers
On a box of swan vester matches
But did lose his life to a fool
With a gun
A hoodlum, drug baron...
Oh’ put a compress on my heart
As I’m still bleeding
I’m still feel his wounds still leaking
His palm still feeling
For my hand, for my hand
For those reigns again
To stand:
Stand up-strong by my side.
Oh’ put a compress on my heart
And nurse me back to health
In your arms, in your arms.
